You deserve a restful night’s sleep. Sleep is the way our bodies restore themselves and promotes cellular regeneration. Sleep is part of a healthy life. However, most of us aren’t getting a good night’s rest. According to the National Institute of Health, “According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 1 in 3 adults in the United States reported not getting enough rest or sleep every day.” That is outstanding numbers. We’re here to help you be that one in three that gets great sleep and hopefully improve the ratio of bad sleepers.

Make Your Bed A Dream Place

It never hurts to create a bedroom that promotes a positive vibe toward sleep. Avoid harsh colors or even extremely bright colors. This causes the brain to be more alert, which is not something you want when it comes to falling asleep.

Get A New Bed

The cornerstone to sleep is the bed. What type do you need? There is a good chance that you have the wrong bed right now. Do you toss and turn? Do you feel well-rested? Anytime your sleep isn’t the best, suspect the bed. Beds are more affordable now, especially if you order online. Take advantage of the return policies and sleep trials.

Say Goodbye To Electronics Before Bed

Designate your bedroom as a technology-free zone to eliminate distractions and promote relaxation. Keep electronic devices out of reach, and consider using an alarm clock instead of relying on your phone. This separation allows your mind to associate the bedroom solely with sleep, creating a sanctuary dedicated to rest and rejuvenation. If you haven’t removed the electronics by now, you might want to consider it.

Move your phone to a different room and either implement a no tv policy after a certain hour or take the TV out. What you’ll find is that without distractions, you can finally get to bed on time. Though the length of sleep doesn’t necessarily equate to quality of sleep, it doesn’t hurt.

Other Useful Tips

Did you already replace your bed with a new mattress in a box? How is that working for you? If you’re happy, great. If not, take advantage of that return policy! Other tips we have for getting a good night’s rest include not eating before bedtime. It might seem like it could help you stay asleep, but it won’t. It activates your digestive tract making it more active. Eating before bed could also lead to heartburn.
